How to nominate in the Investors in Young People Awards
To make a nomination, please read the YES IYP Awards information below and the 2018 form will be added once nominations are open for the year.
Year on year our IYP awards have recognised and celebrated the work of local businesses and schools supporting our young people and those young people whose achievements have stood out.
The award categories, and criteria are as follows:
Schools and College IYP Awards
For business support: recognising businesses that have been most supportive of the school/college in providing effective collaboration, resources and mentoring to improve and enhance the employment prospects of its students.
For students awards: recognising those students who have taken best advantage of the opportunities offered to them by businesses and have, by their own endeavours, benefitted most to improve their employment/career prospects in the process. Two of those nominated will also have taken part in the YES Conference programme.
DWP IYP Awards
For business support: recognising businesses that have been most supportive to the district's young unemployed by providing effective collaboration, resources and mentoring to improve and enhance the employment prospects of its clients.
For young person awards: recognising those young unemployed clients who have taken best advantage of the opportunities offered to them by businesses and who, by their own endeavours, have benefitted the most to improve their employment prospects in the process.
YES IYP Young person of the year (open to everyone aged 24 and under who live within the Epping Forest District or nearby).
YES IYP Large business of the year (deemed to be the most supportive of young people who employ over 12 full-time equivalent employees) Recognising the business that has given outstanding support, advice and guidance to local young people, supporting them to be best placed to achieve meaningful employment and successful and fulfilling careers.
YES IYP Small business of the year (deemed to be the most supportive of young people who employ less than 11 full-time equivalent employees inc. branches or franchises) Recognising the business that has given outstanding support, advice and guidance to local young people, supporting them to be best placed to achieve meaningful employment and successful and fulfilling careers.
YES IYP Apprenticeship of the year (awarded either to the best apprentice or the company/organisation offering the best apprenticeship scheme) Recognising the apprenticeship provider or apprentice who has benefited the most from the apprenticeship process and made a significant contribution to a successful and outstanding outcome for all involved.
YES IYP Organisation of the Year (to include public and third sector organisations as well as training providers) Recognising the not-for-profit organisation that has made the most significant contribution in supporting local young people to be best placed to achieve meaningful employment and successful and fulfilling careers.
YES IYP Innovator of the year (to be awarded to the organisation or individual that has done most to change things for the better)
